My Reaction to "To Sir Love" was very interesting in how it was about teachers. The movie in the beginning showed lots of tension between the staff and the students with the black teacher. The kids would test the teacher but he showed seriousness but was also patient with them. The staff was warning the teacher about the students and how bad they were. The teacher was determined and didn't want to give up on the kids. Soon the kids took a liking to the teacher as he treated them like adults. The teacher also listened to their questions and proceeded to make the class an environment where they could feel safe and comfortable. The teachers couldn't believe the fact that he had completely changed them. The majority of the teachers applauded him for what he did others disliked it. I have noticed throughout the movie that based on a character's attitude the character the next day would wear their old clothing and have a dirty look and tone as well as improper English. The movie did a good job depicting how people would smoke in buildings like schools and how teens would smoke as well without getting in trouble. The movie also showed race differences in school for there were more whites than blacks. They also talk about roles for genders like men and women and their place in society. This movie showed the UK’s POV back then in classrooms and living style they also show their UK slang throughout the movie. The movie “To Sir Love” shows how UK people dressed and went over their fashion sense. They also showed how black people were treated in the UK who have jobs or live there in general. In the movie “To Sir Love” they show how the education system is.
